Ufone is an internet service provider.
Ufone is a mobile network operator in Pakistan with 23 million subscribers and a 13% market share. Owned by PTCL under the e& Group (formerly Etisalat), Ufone provides 4G LTE service with VoLTE and launched 5G in Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi in 2026.
About Ufone
Ufone launched commercial operations in January 2001. The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL). PTCL itself is majority controlled by e& Group, the UAE-based telecom giant that acquired 26% stake and management control during Pakistan’s privatization program in 2006.
The PTCL-Ufone relationship means fixed-line broadband and mobile operate under one corporate umbrella. PTCL handles fiber and DSL. Ufone handles mobile. Both brands share infrastructure where possible, and the ongoing PTCL-Ufone integration aims to combine billing, retail, and network operations.
Ufone is headquartered in Islamabad. It holds the fourth-largest market share among Pakistani operators, behind Jazz (73M subscribers), Telenor (51M), and Zong (47M). Ufone added VoLTE in October 2023, the last Pakistani operator to support the technology.
In 2026, Ufone launched 5G service in three cities: Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi. The 5G rollout follows e& Group’s spectrum acquisition strategy across its global operations. Coverage remains limited to central urban areas in these cities during the initial phase.
Plans and Services
Ufone offers prepaid and postpaid mobile plans on its 4G LTE network. Monthly internet packages range from PKR 250 for 1 GB (Monthly Light) to PKR 1,000 for 10 GB (Monthly Max). All packages include 2 GB of social media data and 30-day validity.
The Super Card Plus at PKR 1,499 per month bundles 20 GB data with unlimited Ufone calls and 350 minutes to other networks. The MBB device package provides 10 GB for PKR 750 on the EVO Wingle for users who need a portable hotspot.
Ufone eSIM activation costs PKR 2,000 for new or converted numbers. Typical 4G speeds range from 15 to 25 Mbps in major cities. Peak theoretical speed on LTE reaches 150 Mbps, though real-world results depend on tower distance and congestion.
5G plans and pricing are being introduced in phases. Early 5G testing in Islamabad shows speeds between 100 and 300 Mbps where coverage is available.
Speed Test Tips
Disable WiFi before testing to measure your Ufone mobile data connection directly. Close background apps that consume bandwidth. Test in an area with strong 4G signal for accurate results.
Run tests at different times. Evening hours (7-11 PM) in Pakistan show the highest congestion on mobile networks. Off-peak results (early morning, midday) reflect Ufone’s best performance. Compare your speed against other Pakistan operators to benchmark your connection.

Test your Ufone connection
After logging into your router, run a speed test to confirm Ufone is delivering the throughput your plan promises. The widget below uses M-Lab's open NDT7 protocol — see the full speed test page for details on how the measurement works.
